Good Afternoon Student Leaders. In its 3rd year, Queens College will host its annual (and first virtual) CUNY Pridefest at Queens College on Friday, October 30th at 4pm. Due to COVID-19, this event is postponed from its original June 2020 date. Faculty, staff and students from CUNY's (11) senior colleges, (7) community colleges and (7) honors and professional schools will celebrate their pride this year during LGBTQ History Month. The celebration includes exciting drag performances to entertain us, and talented musical acts will keep the energy alive. Good Afternoon Student Leaders! ?While strides in equality are reversed, and LGBTQIA+ Americans find themselves at greater risk with fewer protections, hate groups emboldened by political leaders are growing in strength. It is time to take action. What does this mean? How do we mobilize? What outcomes do we want? On Wednesday, October 28th during free hour, this student panel discussion will be moderated by former NYC Council Member and Queens College Professor, Jimmy Vacca. NYC Council Member, Ritchie Torres (District 15), will provide some opening remarks before we unpack many of the issues facing LGBTQI+ Americans.? Good day all, I wanted to let you know because our office is short staff this semester Club Registration process is taking longer than expected. Our office is a letter everyone knows that they can still plan and have events pending approval, and this goes for all new clubs as well.
