$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ THE ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT IS OFFERING ONE OR MORE $2,000.00 ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDENTS IN OUR GRADUATE PROGRAM IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, THE APPLICANTS MUST: * HAVE A STRONG ACADEMIC BACKGROUND AND MUST HAVE DEMONSTRATED LEADERSHIP SKILLS. * HAVE SHOWN A COMMITMENT TO THE FIELD OF ACCOUNTING. * HAVE A MINIMUM GPA OF 3.5 IN A CURRENT OR PREVIOUS DEGREE PROGRAM For selected candidates, scholarships will be in the form of a cash award as long as the following conditions are met: * Recipient enrolls in and completes 9 credits in the first semester. * Recipient earns a 3.5 grade point average in the first semester. * If at any time, the recipient’s cumulative grade point average for the degree program drops below 3.5 and/or the recipient enrolls for less than nine credits in a semester, the scholarship funds will no longer be available. Applications must be submitted by May 10, 2019 and must include the following: * For undergraduates, an acceptance letter to our Graduate Accounting Program. * A completed Scholarship Application Form. (Attached) * Current resume. * Two current, signed letters of recommendations from Accounting professors. * Student copies of all undergraduate transcripts and graduate transcripts, if applicable. * A two-page essay, typed and double spaced in a 12 point font, addressing the following: 1-Describe yourself as a student, and discuss the strengths you will bring to the field of Accounting. 2-How will the Queens College program help you meet your professional goals. 3-What makes you a good candidate for a scholarship (academic background, leadership skills, commitment to the field, special accomplishments, interests) X
