Students must have at least a 3.2
overall GPA and 3.5 in the major. Lower juniors and upper sophomores are
eligible to apply. Students must submit an essay of no more than 750 words that
explains their interest in their field of study and the courses that have been
most meaningful and interesting. The essay should explain how receiving the
scholarship would impact the applicant and should indicate future plans,
including both career plans and any plans for graduate study. Applicants are
also encouraged to write about some of their other interests beyond their major
field of study. The application must also include a transcript, CV and faculty
recommendation.
