THE ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT HAS DECIDED TO OFFER ONE OR MORE $1,000.00 ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDENTS IN THE GRADUATE PROGRAM

 

 

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, THE APPLICANTS MUST:

 

* HAVE A STRONG ACADEMIC BACKGROUND AND MUST HAVE DEMONSTRATED LEADERSHIP SKILLS.

 

* HAVE SHOWN A COMMITMENT TO THE FIELD OF ACCOUNTING.

 

* HAVE A MINIMUM GPA OF 3.5 IN A PREVIOUS DEGREE PROGRAM

 

For selected candidates, scholarships will be in the form of a cash award as long as the following conditions are met:

 

  • Recipient enrolls in and completes 9 credits in the first semester.
  • Recipient earns a 3.5 grade point average in the first semester.
  • If at any time, the recipient’s cumulative grade point average for the degree program drops below 3.5 the scholarship funds will no longer be available for any future classes.

 

Applications must be submitted by May 15, 2013 and must include the following:

 

  • For undergraduates, an acceptance letter to our Graduate Accounting Program.
  • A completed Scholarship Application Form. (Attached)
  • Current resume.
  • Two current, signed letters of recommendations from Accounting professors.
  • Student copies of all undergraduate transcripts and graduate transcripts, if applicable.
  • A two-page essay, typed and double spaced in a 12 point font, addressing the following:

                                1-Describe yourself as a student, and discuss the strengths you will bring to the field of Accounting.

                                2-How will Queens College’s program help you meet your professional goals.

                                3-What makes you a good candidate for a scholarship (academic background, leadership skills, commitment to the field, special accomplishments, interests)
