KPMG/ALPFA Case Study Competition KPMG would like to invite your chapter members to apply to compete in the 2018 KPMG/ALPFA Case Study Competition! This year, individual students will apply and, if selected, will be on randomly assigned teams for the competition once they arrive onsite. Creating project teams on site supports how we operate at KPMG and our efforts of developing teams that are diverse and innovative.
The KPMG/ALPFA competition continues to be an extremely popular event, and based on positive feedback, the competition will again consist of MBA-level cases. KPMG LLP (KPMG) believes that this format, focusing on critical thinking and presentation skills, will provide you with a challenging experience in a competitive environment.
The 2018 competition will begin on Tuesday, July 31 with a mandatory orientation, team assignments, followed by on-site case preparation held during the national Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA) convention in Las Vegas, Nevada. Teams will present their case solutions the following day. No advance preparation or research will be necessary, as all teams will receive the case on-site at the convention.
All teams will present on Wednesday, August 1. The top two teams from each room will compete again in the final round of competition for the national winners and runner-up titles later that afternoon.
The benefits provided to students selected for the competition include:
— Round trip to Las Vegas, NV and hotel accommodations for two nights — National winners and national runners-up will be awarded individual prize money:

Runners-up will be awarded $500 (per person) — Campus recruiting will provide funding to the winning team ALPFA chapters to set up their own KPMG & Campuses for Literacy event Eligible students must meet the requirements below:
— Students must be graduating in the spring/summer of 2019 or later. All classifications are eligible for this opportunity (freshman, sophomore, junior, and/or senior). — Students must be one of the following majors: accounting, finance, information systems, or any other business or IT related major. — Students must be actively enrolled in college and have a minimum GPA of 3.1. — Students must be from a racial and ethnic minority group from a traditionally underrepresented group in the accounting and professional services industry. — Students should embrace and support ALPFA’s values, mission, and principles as identified on the ALPFA Web site at www.alpfa.org.
