Dear Accounting, Business & Economic Students,
The Annual ISACA (Information Systems Audit & Control Association) Cyber-Security Students Case Study Competition has started.
I am looking for four to six of our best students to study and prepare the case of the Data Breach at Equifax (a Harvard Business School Case) with the guidance of three to five excellent mentors
(professional IT People) and myself as moderator. Prior knowledge of Cyber-Security or IT Audit is
NOT required. We need a very diversified (in thought, mindset, and problem solving approach) team. Our Mentors are the very best in the nation in my opinion.
The case Competition runs for 9 weeks from late February to early May and will likely require about 30-40 hours of your time. Prizes in the past were as follows:
for first, second and third place run between $300 and $700 per team member.
Sponsors are ISACA, Google, Trend Micro, and CardinalOPS.
In the past teams that I (Dr. Solieri) have entered placed as follows:
First Year 2020 - First and Third Place (two teams)
Year Two 2021 - Second place tied with the first place team until the final Q&A session, we lost by one point).
Year Three-2022 - I WOULD LIKE TO WIN IT AGAIN - PLEASE JOIN ME!!!
We will be competing against several of the Colleges in NYC and NYS as well as some High School entrants. Queens College will likely be fielding another team, but only ONE can make it to the competition.
You will be AMAZED at what you learn from ONE CASE STUDY and it will definitely enhance YOUR RESUME!
If you are interested please call Dr. Steven A. Solieri, CPA at 570-840-8567 AND E-Mail me at
SASolieri@aol.com
I am on sabbatical but will make the time to try to make QC a Winner again!
Attached is the information on the case and about the competition itself.
Thank you!
Steve
