Dear Accounting Majors:
As you should know the minimum grade requirement for all courses in the
Department of Accounting and Information Systems (except Accounting 101) was
raised from "C-" to "C" starting in this past fall semester. The minimum
grade of "D" in all Economics and Business courses remains unchanged. If
you received a grade of less than "C" in an Accounting course this past
semester, please follow these instructions:
1. Drop the following course in the sequence for which you may have
previously registered. For example, if you received a "C-" in Accounting
201, drop Accounting 202 immediately. If you do not drop, we will
eventually drop you which may cost you money and prevent you from registering
for a substitute course.
2. Re-register for the course in which you did not achieve the minimum
grade. We suggest that you do not re-take the course with the same
professor. If the class is closed we will consider giving you an over
tally based on room capacity.
3. Under no circumstances may you re-take the course in which you did not
receive the minimum grade and the following course in the sequence in the same
semester. You must successfully complete the prerequisite course first
before taking the following course in the sequence.
Please note the Degree Works, which is unofficial, has in some cases
retroactively applied the minimum "C" grade requirement to your previous
courses. Please ignore that notation. We will approve you for
graduation with grades of "C-" for all Accounting courses taken through the
Summer of 2013.
Thank you for your cooperation.
