Since 1994 Perelson Weiner LLP has been serving the accounting, tax and business advisory needs of private companies and entrepreneurs. We are a Top 150 leading advisory and full-service accounting firm, headquartered at 299 Park Avenue, New York, NY, and are seeking a Tax & Audit Intern for our New York office. We are looking for a motivated individual who wants to be challenged, desires professional growth and will collaborate with others in a supportive work environment. As a Tax & Audit Intern, you will work closely with engagement professionals and partners and be involved in either tax compliance and advisory work and/or conducting audits of financial statement accounts and in the preparation and review of financial statements for clients across many industries, among them financial services, professional services firms, technology, real estate, manufacturing and distribution, retailers, and nonprofits.

Client service intern positions are for entry-level and job seekers either in their 3rd year of a 4 year degree program or in the 4th year of a 5 year program. Interns typically join us during the winter/spring or summer prior to their intended graduation year.

 

• Pay $25-30 an hour
• Summer internship (May/June through August 2022)
• In-office position (299 Park Ave, NY, NY)

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent business discipline, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher OR have an anticipated graduation date within one year.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams.
• Detail oriented, resourceful, with the ability to multitask, in a team setting, in a fast paced and results driven environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
• Proof of Covid-19 vaccination.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience working in a CPA firm is a plus.
• On the CPA 150 credit hours educational track and/or actively studying for the CPA exams.
• Proficient with business software tools such as CCH ProSystem FX Engagement, RIA Checkpoint, PPC Checkpoint Tools, GoFileroom, Gosystem RS, Bloomberg BNA, Quickbooks and Accounting Research Manager.
