Dear Spring and Summer Graduating Accounting Majors: First and foremost I hope you are all safe and healthy. In these perilous times, I know it has been a struggle for many of you to keep up with your studies. Continuing your educational career might be the furthest thing from your mind as you strive to keep you and your family healthy. In an effort to assist you, I have decided to reduce the Fall admission requirements to the MS in Accounting program. I am today extending the exemption from the GMAT, reference letters, and essay, to all candidates with a cumulative GPA of 3.0+. If you qualify, you can simply file an application on the Graduate Application website. Here is a link to the application: Online Application Login<https://app.applyyourself.com/AYApplicantLogin/fl_ApplicantConnectLogin.asp…> To qualify for this triple exemption, simply answer “No” when queried if you took the GMAT. When asked for three references, indicate “Not Applicable” for all three references, and for your essay simply write “I am exempt from this essay”. The application deadline has been extended until July 15, however if you want to start in the summer you should apply immediately. There is no application fee. Furthermore, if your GPA is slightly under 3.0, but you believe it will be 3.0 by the time you graduate, you can still apply. Simply indicate in your essay that “I intend to graduate with a 3.0 GPA”. I will accept you with that condition. Having a graduate degree in Accounting is the best way to enhance your career opportunities while fulfilling the 150 credit requirement for the CPA license. Dear Undergraduate and Graduate Accounting Students: The Department of Accounting and Information Systems is offering a new course - IT AUDIT - in the Fall semester. It is coded #3913 for undergraduates and #7913 for graduate students. It may be used for either your A or B elective in the undergraduate program, or as en elective in the graduate program. The class will be held on Tuesday evenings from 6:30-9:20 PM. A full description of the course can be found below. We believe this course will be invaluable to students who intend to start a career in Auditing. Good luck to all. Stay safe and healthy. Description: Information Technology Audit & Assurance: This course will focus on the ISACA (Information Systems Audit & Control Association) CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) Exam domain topics covering many of the aspects of the IT Audit as performed by a firms IT Auditors.
