Dear Students: As a reminder, when preparing your schedule for the Fall semester please remember that you have the opportunity to participate in the accounting internship elective. This course will fulfill your 'Elective A' requirement for graduation. If you maintain a B GPA and anticipate having senior class status as of the Fall 2013, please read the attachment. This elective is a wonderful opportunity to participate in the accounting profession and at the same time receive college credit for your efforts. As the attachment indicates, this elective is available only for the Fall and Spring semesters. I will be responsible for registering students, and I will do so during the Summer. Internships are available throughout the metropolitan area and you can find them using internet resources, contacts you may already have in the accounting profession or through career services in Frese Hall. If you belong to any of the business clubs on campus, ALPHA, NABA or ASCEND, they are also a wonderful resource for internships. Please email me with any questions. Dear Students: Several scholarships are still available: 1. $2,500 Business Forum Scholarship for Sophomores & Juniors; 2. $2,500 Investors Bank Scholarship, any year 3. $5,000 Scholarship Chamber of Commerce Hank Auffarth Scholarship (up to 2, $2,500 scholarships) for a student who will be attending graduate school. In all cases, students need to submit, no later than tomorrow, Wednesday May 22nd 1) a letter expressing interest and need 2) Transcripts 3) Resume 4) Letters of recommendation from professors (can be submitted within one week) All applications must be submitted to Elvira Casper in PH 331. I am sending this e mail again to all undergraduate Accounting majors. So often students have asked me for special permission to take graduate courses during their senior year. This is your opportunity to do that and gain early formal admittance into the graduate program. Don't let this opportunity pass you by. Be a part of AMP and get a head start on your graduate studies. ATTENTION ALL HIGHLY QUALIFIED JUNIOR ACCOUNTING MAJORS INTRODUCING AMP THE ACCELERATED ACCOUNTING MASTERS PROGRAM AMP offers early admission to the Accounting MS Program. It allows you to take two graduate courses while still completing your undergraduate degree. This will reduce the time needed for you to complete your MS degree requirements and will make your senior year more productive. To qualify for AMP you must be an undergraduate Accounting major scheduled to graduate in the Spring or Summer of 2014. You must have an overall GPA of 3.5 or better. You will need two reference letters and a personal statement to gain admission. See Professor Milich in PH 215 for more details and to obtain an application. The deadline to apply is May 30, so don't delay. Get a head start on your graduate studies with AMP.
