[Socrates] Mentimeter Course Engagement Pilot

The Center for Excellence in Teaching, Learning, & Leadership (CETLL) has secured a limited number of Mentimeter Pro licenses for faculty. These licenses are part of a pilot project aimed at enhancing engagement in virtual courses.

Engaging your class as a whole has always been a challenge, even before instruction was moved online. It is especially difficult during Zoom classes as the process of students raising their hands, unmuting themselves, as well as handling background noise, and potentially unstable connections, means that whole-course interaction is limited at best.

Mentimeter is a synchronous engagement tool that allows you to collect live responses from your entire class. Faculty can have all students (instead of just a few) engage in the course through interactive features such as word clouds, polling, quizzes, and surveys. While everyone is eligible for a free account, the paid version allows you to create unlimited questions; edit presentations with colleagues or team members; and export results to Excel.
