On behalf of Brais Outes-León, Director of the Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship:

Dear Colleagues,



The Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship (MMUF) will be hosting its first Open House of the year on November 2, 2022 during the Free Hour (12.15-1.30pm) at Honors Hall, Room 17.



I would very much appreciate if you could circulate the flyer for the event among faculty members in your departments as well as among exceptional students that you think would be interested in pursuing a career in academia. The event is designed as an information session in which undergraduate students will have an opportunity to learn more about the program from current and former fellows. Food will be served!



The Mellon Mays Program supports outstanding undergraduate students from underrepresented backgrounds to successfully apply for PhD Programs in the Humanities and the Social Sciences. The MMUF Program provides its participating fellows with both academic and financial support, including:



  *   A 2-year living stipend
  *   Summer funding
  *   A Mentoring Program
  *   Writing Workshops for College Applications
