[Socrates] Undoing Gender Bias Fellowship with CERRU

The Center for Ethnic, Racial, and Religious Understanding will be hosting
an *Undoing Gender Bias Fellowship* this spring. We are accepting

We’ve all been taught that we’re not man enough or woman enough to be loved
and/or respected in our society. Sexism, Misogyny, Transphobia, Homophobia
are all sources
of inequities and traumas that impede our ability to connect with each
other and live
an actualized life. Often when we think of gender bias, we view women as
the single
object of gendered harm.

This fellowship will take a semester to explore the ways in which gender
and sexuality bias impacts gender non-conforming people, women and men. It
also looks deeply at how gender and sexuality allow us to internalize
messages that impact our health and asks us do we feel enough in our skin,
bodies, and hearts. Undoing Gender Bias also means learning how to take
down gender bias in our romantic and sexual relationships. Join this
fellowship to understand your own relationship with boundaries and gender
roles.

Students learn the following:
- How systems of gender bias were created in the United States
- The values of gender-biased systems
- Ways in which we as individuals uphold sexist ideology and bias
- Ways this system of gender bias impacts us and our relationships to self
and others
- Language on how to interrupt gender harassment
